Festival Season Continues!
Where to see: III Points
This past weekend, III Points Music Festival made its return to Miami, Florida. After multiple delays and being pushed back several times, following the Covid-19 pandemic, people gathered together to enjoy the electric atmosphere of live music again.
With performances from Peggy Gou, Washed Out, Wu-Tang Clan, and headliners, The Strokes and Kaytranada, it was a two-day event filled with music, art, and interactive experiences.
III Points Miami represented “a celebration of resilience and strength not just for the local community but for Miami and music at large.” Being larger than ever before, it brought a feeling of togetherness and solidified an ultimate truth of how much people have missed dancing on festival grounds to live music.

'Dune' is Finally Here
Where to watch: In theaters and HBO Max
On Friday, Oct. 22, the highly-anticipated film ‘Dune” was released in theatres and on HBO Max. The film starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Mamoa, and more was originally set to release back in November of 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the film wasn’t able to be released or seen in theatres worldwide. Although during that time, various new films resorted to releasing their work exclusively on streaming platforms, the film has been described as needing to be experienced in theatres.
The sci-fi book adaptation has racked up a mixed range of reviews, but across the board has been described as an immersive experience. With intense visuals and a captivating score, it remains intriguing yet leaves out parts of the audience. It seems the film is mainly directed toward those who have experienced the novel the film is based on. With mind-reading and control playing a significant part in the plot, some context is harder to grasp.
However, the world of Dune is far from incomplete, as it is based on a 15 part saga and audiences may just have to wait until the later installments to feel fully enthralled in this universe created by Frank Herber.

Seve Madden Reintroduces 'Big Head Girls'
Where to see: Steve Madden
Last week, Steve Madden threw it back to their roots and launched a whole new “Big Heads” campaign. The original “Big Head Girls” campaign was first introduced in 1997 and is now back with its own 2021 touch.
Normani, Sydney Sweeney, Nessa Barret, Justine Skye, and Jordan Alexander were a few of the stars at the forefront of the campaign. The ad showed the stars morphing into virtual avatars of themselves, sporting their favorite pieces from the Madden collection, and was also a way to introduce the new program on their website, the SteveMaddenverse.
The women were selected for this campaign as they represent innovative thinking and speak their minds within their industry, while also inspiring a new generation. It’s nostalgic and brand new, all at the same time.
